Following the successful Millennium Festival on the August Bank Holiday weekend in Banteer 2000, the Committee decided to build on that success, and hopefully this year's Festival will be every bit as enjoyable as last years.The planning for this festival commenced when the last one finished, and a lot of effort has been made by the members of Banteer Community Sportsfield Ltd, into making this event enjoyable for everybody.A special 40 page souvenir programme has been produced for distribution free of charge to people in the area. 

Any profits from the Festival will of course go towards the new Children's Playground, New Pitch, Walks and Drainage of existing Pitch. These phase 2 development items will hopefully be completed in the coming months. The completion of these projects along with those already completed in 1999/2000 will ensure that local facilities are on a par with any village in Ireland. 

The Festival Committee would like to thank the following for making the Festival possible this year:

4 mile road race - starts at Sportsfield

Sunday 5^th August:

Family Fun day at Sportsfield, Sack race, Egg & Spoon   race, 3 legged race, Obstacle race,  Golf, Penalty Shooting and many more events.

Duck Race at Glen River (Fr. Murphy's Bridge) 

500 ducks will once again take to the water and race to the
