Tidy Town
A
Tidy Towns Committee for Banteer was formed at a meeting on Monday 23rd
April at Banteer Community Centre.
An
application is being submitted for this years National Tidy Towns
competition.
The
Tidy Towns competition is judged under the following sections -
-
Overall
development approach for village (50 marks) e.g long term development
plan
-
Built
Environment, Landscaping and Wildlife (40 marks) e.g.
painting/undeveloped sites/street furniture/stone walls etc.
-
Landscaping
(40 marks) e.g trees, shrubs, open spaces treatment.
-
Wildlife
and natural amenities (30 marks) e.g Park area, walks, signposting
etc.
-
Litter
control and tidiness
(60 marks) e.g absence
of litter, litter bins, School/Youth anti-litter promotions, weed
control.
-
Residential
areas (30 marks) e.g
condition of estates, landscaping, signage etc
-
Roads/streets
and Back areas (40 marks) e.g
approach roads, bridges, car parks, signage etc.
-
General
impression (10 marks) e.g Integrated community approach, community
effort.
Judging
is done in June/July/August with results in September.
A detailed 5 year plan for improvements is attached which
outlines all improvement plans. Your
input to these plans is welcome. Grants
may be available to undertake some of the improvements locally.

These leaders will co-ordinate
and liase with all residents in their areas to ensure that improvements
are implemented.
We need the help of all to improve our village.
A meeting/walkabout of all appointed leaders and any other person
interested will take place on Monday next 30th April at
7.30pm. Meet in
Banteer Square.
