Thursday
16th October from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

is free.
With any decision, it is
important to make an informed choice, but between homework, study
and exams, it can be hard to find time to focus on the future. In
response to this need, IRD Duhallow has organised Decisions
Information Day, a fantastic opportunity for young people,
their parents, teachers and friends, to find out the facts before
deciding on what career path or college course to choose. For more

IRD Duhallow’s three recent Community Fora
meetings provided updates on the progress of LEADER+, Local Development
Social Inclusion Programme, CLÁR, Rural Transport and Duhallow Community
Food Services. Many of the targets, which are laid out in our strategic
plans, are well on the way towards achievement as we approach the mid-term
review of the Programmes.
IRD Duhallow encourages communities to take
advantage of the opportunities provided through each Programme. We are
encouraging projects, which focus on our LEADER+ theme “Making the Best
Use of our Natural and Cultural Resources”, to improve the visual and
environmental impact of local areas and create “A Living Countryside” for
Duhallow. The Community Development Team are available to assist you in
the development of your ideas and welcome your call at 029-60633.

Duhallow Beekeepers Association has now completed its third summer in
beekeeping. Most Beekeepers in the group report production in excess of
40 lbs. per hive. Many members have expanded their stocks. A number of
potential beekeepers have indicated their interest in joining the
Association during the summer. Lectures will be organised over the coming
months so now is a good time to apply for membership. At the moment there
is a high demand for locally produced honey in Duhallow. Information on
joining the Association or on the forthcoming Lecture Programme can be
obtained from Linda
Deady at 029-60633.
